Beginning December 9, School Board and School Board Committee meetings move to our new permanent location at Lincoln School (211 S. 6th Ave.). Please park and enter from East side of building.
It's so exciting to be six years old and in first grade! First graders work on becoming confident learners, risk takers, and kind and caring classmates. Early literacy skills are developed as the children begin to think of themselves as readers and writers.
In math, a wide range of concepts are covered, but some favorites include telling time, money, and beginning addition and subtraction facts.
Through our hands on science units we explore Animals, Forces Around Us and Seeds to Plants. Social Studies allows us to discover more about our school community, families, and maps.
We truly enjoy working with first graders and their families!
When I was One,
I had just begun.
When I was Two,
I was nearly new.
When I was Three,
I was hardly me.
When I was Four,
I was not much more.
When I was Five, I was just alive.
But now I am Six, I'm as clever as clever,
So I think I'll be six now for ever and ever.
